Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC seeks a senior financial planning and analysis professional to support the CFO's decision making by uncovering macro-level insights and building scalable reporting tools across Amazon's businesses. You will work with Accounting, Finance, and Financial Systems to interpret results, craft business narratives, and implement mechanisms for new reporting insights.

The role sits on the Corporate FP&A team responsible for global reporting to the CFO and CEO.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
• 5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience
• 5+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
• 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
• 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
• MBA, or CPA
• Knowledge of SQL/ETL
• Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
• Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Responsibilities

• Design new financial insights and enhance existing financial reporting that enables informed decision-making for senior leadership across Amazon's global operations
• Present ad hoc business analysis and recommendations to senior management by diving deep to build analyses, models, and narratives with broad scope that deliver results
• Own corporate finance reporting definitions and ensure consistency across the finance organization, monitoring for accuracy and establishing processes to audit data and reporting
• Serve as a liaison between accounting and system teams to drive accurate close, navigating across organizations to identify the right teams to participate in discussions
• Recommend improvements and provide scoping documents for system enhancements, identifying opportunities to implement large-scale financial solutions that simplify finance tools, technology, and processes
