Description

Are you ready to get in on the ground floor of Amazon’s long-term initiative to design, launch, and maintain a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites to provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world?

It’s Day 1 for Amazon’s next billion dollar business, and we are looking for an entrepreneurial-minded Finance Manager to work in a start-up environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about technology, manufacturing, and FP&A, with a global outlook, and capable of creating and implementing solutions, processes, and controls.

Project Kuiper seeks multiple Finance Managers. This is an exciting opportunity to shape financial processes from the ground up in a new, high-growth team.

The candidate should be strategic, analytical, and able to work effectively with cross-functional teams. This role involves regular interaction with senior executives, various business units, and multiple stakeholders across Amazon, requiring strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Key job responsibilities

1. Develop and implement robust revenue and gross profit analysis frameworks
2. Create and automate monthly financial reports for senior leadership
3. Build scalable financial models and processes to support the team's growth
4. Provide strategic insights to drive data-driven decision making
5. Build out and enhance P&L models for new and existing businesses, develop business insights and KPI dashboards, and lead ad hoc analyses
6. Work with big data, transforming it into insights and information
7. Identify opportunities to proactively resolve defects; improve, scale, or simplify finance tools across teams and organizations
8. Participate in finance initiatives, including process improvements, ad hoc analyses, and periodic reporting activities

Basic Qualifications

1. 5+ years of experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field
2. Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field
3. Export Control Requirement: Candidates must be U.S. citizens, nationals, lawful permanent residents (Green Card holders), refugees, or asylees due to export control laws

Preferred Qualifications

1. 5+ years of experience delivering cross-functional projects
2. Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Essbase, Cognos) and financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
3. Relevant experience in financial analysis and reporting
4. Strong knowledge of financial and accounting fundamentals
5. Advanced financial modeling and Excel skills
6. Effective communication skills, with the ability to influence decisions and present options clearly
