Job summary

University of Minnesota is seeking a Finance Manager for the Minnesota Agricultural Experiment Station (MAES). The role provides comprehensive financial management, analysis, reporting, and administrative oversight to support MAES’s statewide research mission within CFANS.

As principal financial advisor for MAES, you will coordinate planning, budgets, federal capacity fund administration, and regulatory compliance, while supervising MAES finance staff and collaborating with college finance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, public administration, or related field; at least six years in financial management.
• Experience managing budgets, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Ability to interpret policies and coordinate across units.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Financial Planning, Budget Development, and Resource Analysis; coordinate annual MAES operating budget and forecasts.
• Federal Capacity Fund Administration and Compliance; oversee reporting, carryforwards, and compliance with USDA-NIFA requirements.
• Financial Reporting, Analysis, and Leadership Advisory Support; develop dashboards, budgets, and executive summaries.
• Staff Supervision, coordination, and professional development of MAES finance personnel.
• Organizational relationships: collaborate with MAES Director, CFANS CFO, and college finance leadership.
