Job summary

The American National Red Cross seeks a Finance Manager for Real Estate & Facilities to lead financial planning, analysis, and reporting for the organization’s property and facility portfolio. You will develop insights, drive cost efficiency, and present strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

You will oversee budgeting for 600 facilities, multi-year forecasting, and capital planning, while building robust data models using Power BI, SQL, and Python to inform enterprise decision making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or real estate or related field.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible financial management and analysis.
• Experience in real estate and/or facility management preferred.
• Strong financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and analytics.
• Experience with large-scale automated financial systems (Oracle).

***WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview):*** The Finance Manager for Real Estate & Facilities leads the preparation, analysis, and interpretation of financial information that informs strategic planning and operational decision-making for Real Estate and Facility departments within the American Red Cross. This role synthesizes complex financial data, develops actionable insights, and delivers clear recommendations to senior leadership. This position will drive accountability through data, analytics, and performance measurement. It also will balance cost management with service quality and asset preservation. The Manager must be able to perform the analysis and reporting themselves as well as lead a team in doing so. This position will establish, maintain, and continuously improve financial systems, processes, and procedures to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. The list of deliverables includes the annual budget cycle for 600 facilities, multi-year forecasting, monthly variance to budget analysis, support for capital planning, and effective control environments. The position partners with multiple stakeholders in a matrixed organization. Stakeholders include a centralized Real Estate function, a decentralized Facility Management team, various business units, a Sustainability group and Finance. The role balances priorities and deliverables across these diverse groups while maintaining high standards of quality and responsiveness. This position evaluates emerging tools and technologies to enhance financial efficiency and may design, build, and maintain financial data models (e.g., Power BI, Power Pivot, SQL based models, Python, etc.) that support budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and enterprise decision making.A critical outcome is to drive cost efficiency in facility operations as the organization maintains good stewardship of the donor dollar. On-going analysis will measure building by building expense performance against financial expectations as well as identify cost outliers for follow-up action. **QUALIFICATIONS:**• Bachelor’s degree – Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or Real Estate preferred• Minimum of five years of progressively responsible accounting or financial management and analysis experience.• Experience in Real Estate and/or Facility Management.• Strong financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and analytical skills.• Advanced proficiency with Excel and financial reporting tools.• Experience supporting operational business functions in a complex, multi-site environment.• Proven record of continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, cost reduction, and service quality.• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.• Minimum of three years in a supervisory (people manager) role.• Experience using large-scale automated financial systems (Oracle), software packages including Hyperion, CFS Business Objects (Webi), MS Excel and Power Query, BI, and Pivot.**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:**• MBA, CPA, CMA, or other relevant professional certification.• Experience supporting facility management, corporate real estate, healthcare facilities, manufacturing facilities, higher education, government, or large campus environments.• Experience with facility management systems:o Integrated workplace management systems (IWMS)o Computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)o Asset management programs• Microsoft Power tools (BI, Query, Automate), SQL, Python, or similar data intelligence tools.• Knowledge of lease accounting standards and capital project accounting.• Financial management of facility portfolios, occupancy costs, and operational budgets.• Preventive and predictive maintenance program financial evaluation.• Development and monitoring of facility performance metrics, KPIs, and benchmarking.• Energy management, utility cost optimization, and sustainability-related financial analysis.• Facilities condition assessments and long-term capital investment planning.• Total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis and return-on-investment (ROI) evaluations for facility investments.• Application of industry standards and best practices from organizations such as IFMA, BOMA, and CoreNet Global.**PAY INFORMATION:** The annual salary range for this position is $105,000 - $125,000. We do not offer an annual bonus for this role. Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed.
