***WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview):*** The Business Operations Manager for International Services provides strategic leadership and operational oversight across the American Red Cross’s international portfolio. This role ensures the effective planning, coordination, and execution of business operations divisions (Asia Pacific, Latin America, and Kenya) and National Headquarter. The manager offers analysis and recommendations on policies, systems, and structures that impact global operations. The position plays a central role in aligning operational support functions with programmatic goals, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement. The position provides leadership and oversight to a global team of Business Operations professionals, including team members who support Service to the Armed Forces with administrative and operational support in inventory management, event support, logistics (shipping), and other operations functions.**ISD Business Operations Key Responsibilities:** * Provide unit executives with analysis and background of organization policies as related to the ISD’s planning, organization and operations. This includes maintaining and monitoring compliance with and documentation of ISD Business Operations’ and Security’s Minimum Standards.* Coordinate with appropriate staff in the development and clarification of policies and procedures impacting operations and security. Lead the design, development, implementation, and periodic review of operational agreements, policies, procedures, and related doctrine. Ensure consistent documentation through Standard Operating Procedures, and communicate processes, procedures, and standards across the department.* Manage ISD activities in close collaboration with Corporate and Enterprise functions to ensure efficiency and economy. Coordinate operational support activities such as human resources, international shipping and logistics, contract administration, and budget. Oversee end to end workforce administration for Third Country Nationals, Delegates, and In-Country Nationals hired by our IFRC and National Society partners. Oversee secondment tracking and stakeholder coordination.* Review and analyze reports and doctrine to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance. Conduct quarterly assessments and field office visits to identify strengths and areas of opportunity; develop and execute action plans to address opportunities to strengthen business operations activities and approaches.* Perform financial and operational review and analysis, including budget preparation, consolidation, and tracking. Develop reports for senior management review regarding status of budget and activities, as well as related financial analyses.* Lead key operations functions in Project Management and Continuous Improvement for both ISD and SAF teams. Recruit, mobilize, and support project management and continuous improvement volunteers.* Oversee key operational functions for the department, including event logistics and management, procurement (including Coupa and travel and purchasing card management and compliance), international response equipment procurement, maintenance, and management, and operational contracts.* Oversee and integrate key leadership elements of International Security, Duty of Care, and Safeguarding for our international footprint. Ensure strong policies, implementation, and oversight.* Provide leadership, guidance, and performance management to a team of Business Operations and Security direct reports in the US, Asia Pacific, Latin America, and Africa. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience required. Management Experience: Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or management experience required.**The ability to supervise team members and support colleagues across global time zones is a requirement of the position, and involves periodic evening and/or early morning meetings.****Skills and Abilities:*** Knowledge of applicable business operations concepts, practices, principles and standards a must. + Includes, but not limited to: budgeting, logistics, procurement, process and policy documentation, contracting, compliance, operational oversight* Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.* Proficiency in use of Microsoft O365 suite; mastery of Word and Excel.* Must be able to work on a team, particularly in multi-cultural contexts.* Spanish language proficiency or fluency preferred. **PAY INFORMATION:** The annual salary range for this position is $110,000 - $120,000. We do not offer an annual bonus for this role. Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed.
