Job summary

The American National Red Cross seeks a Facilities Technician to join the Las Vegas team. You will maintain and repair facilities and equipment, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and related machinery.

You may operate boilers, motors, pumps, and perform repairs while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. Five or more years of hands-on experience are required, along with a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Education: High School or equivalent required; trade license may be required.
• Minimum 5 years of related maintenance experience in painting, HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics; basic computer skills; driver’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair organization's facilities and properties with routine tasks.
• Correct minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and structural problems.
• Paint structures and equipment; document installations and repairs as required by regulations.
• Repair appliances and equipment; operate boilers, chillers, motors, fans, pumps and related gear.
• Estimate time and material costs; requisition new supplies and equipment.
• Review maintenance records to identify recurring deficiencies and plan corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment; follow safety procedures; may support fleet operations and travel.

Typically perform work in one or more of the maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, machine and equipment repair, electrical, sheet metal fabrication, and welding. Conduct routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment. Use hand and power tools to test, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair machines and equipment. Use blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications. May train or check the work of other facilities staff. Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers. Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable Federal, State and local regulations. This role is not eligible for relocation assistance. This will report to our Southern Nevada chapter office in Las Vegas, NV 5 days a week. This is a full time role.
