Overview:

We’re seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Financial Manager of Events & Budgets with a passion for building a business. They will be a key financial expert who owns the entire spectrum of Financial Analysis, Reporting, and Budget Management duties for all Live Events Revenues.

Primary Responsibilities:
Budget Management & Financial Analysis
  • Develop complex live event budgets up to $15M, building detailed financial models that account for all revenue streams.
  • Translate strategic concepts into actionable financial plans and create and maintain budget templates and frameworks to scale across the growing events portfolio.
  • Conduct variance analysis on planned versus actual to improve forecasting accuracy and take corrective actions.
  • Serve as the financial gatekeeper for event spending, ensuring all expenditures are within budget and properly authorized
  • Track commitments, accruals, and actual spending across concurrent events to ensure expenditures fall within budget.
  • Prepare financial reports and dashboards to present budget health, burn rate, and projected outcomes to leadership.
Financial Oversight of Vendors & Contracts
  • Manage all finance‑related vendor management duties, including vendor selection, evaluation, and payment tracking.
  • Assist the Events team in negotiating favorable contract terms with venues, technology providers, and event companies.
  • Maintain the database with contract terms, payment schedules, and performance metrics, while ensuring compliance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key vendor partners to optimize terms and service delivery.
AP Invoice Processing, Reconciliations, and Reporting
  • Manage event‑related AP processes in conjunction with Accounting & Finance to verify invoice accuracy, coordinate payment scheduling, and to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices.
  • Perform post‑event financial reconciliation, accounting for all revenue, expenses, deposits, and vendor invoices.
  • Prepare detailed event P&L statements and analyze financial performance against plan.
  • Create financial summaries for leadership review, identifying key insights to advise future event planning and budgeting.
Strategic & Cross‑Functional Partnership
  • Provide financial guidance to the Events and Revenue team on strategic decisions, pricing, packaging, and revenue.
  • Work with the Accounting & Finance team on cash flow planning, forecasting, and financial close processes.
  • Support market expansion with due diligence and analysis; aid in the development of financial processes and controls.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements and document SOPs for event Financial Management.
  • Collaborate with the IT team on future integration of Event Management and Financial Systems.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business.
  • 5 – 7 years of FP&A and Budget Management experience. Ideally, within the Media, Entertainment, or Event space.
  • Proven experience managing complex Budgets of $500K – $15M range.
  • Experience with AP, Accrual Accounting, and Financial Reconciliations.
  • Background in Vendor Management, Contract Review, and Procurement Processes.
  • Advanced experience utilizing MS Excel for Financial Modeling, Financial Analysis, and building decks for Presentations.
  • Experience translating complex financial data into concise and digestible operational insights to present to the C‑Suite.
  • A tech‑savvy mindset, someone who enjoys utilizing technology to improve and automate processes.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced start‑up environment and be a key player to help expand a high‑growth business.
