Finance Manager / Controller
Mirazon helps mid-sized businesses run better through secure, reliable technology. For 20 years we’ve grown by doing the right thing for clients and for our people. This role owns the financial engine that lets us scale without losing the accountability and culture that earned us Best Place to Work honors in Louisville and Kentucky. You will turn numbers into decisions so leadership can invest in talent, service quality, and long-term client partnerships.
Performance Objectives
- Close monthly books within 10 business days and deliver accurate P&L, balance sheet, cash-flow, and departmental reports that leadership actually uses.
- Build a 13-week cash forecast and working-capital discipline that keeps the company funded through growth, vendor payments, and payroll without surprises.
- Own budgeting and forecasting: partner with sales, service, and project leaders to produce an annual plan and quarterly re-forecasts that track utilization, margin, and recurring revenue.
- Strengthen billing, collections, and project-costing so DSO improves and service/project margins are visible by client and offering.
- Implement or tighten controls, revenue recognition (MSP contracts, projects, hardware), and audit-ready processes that scale with a 51-200 person private company.
- Provide clear financial insight in leadership meetings: flag risks, quantify opportunities, and recommend actions that protect culture and profitability.
- Mentor accounting staff and improve systems (QuickBooks or similar, PSA/CRM integration) so the team spends less time on firefighting and more time on analysis.
Environment & Resources
You report to the CEO/ownership team in Louisville. You work with a small, high-trust leadership group and operations, sales, and service leaders who value straight talk. Tools include standard accounting software, ConnectWise or similar PSA, Microsoft 365, and bank/vendor portals. You will have authority to tighten processes and, as we grow, influence hiring and system upgrades. Hybrid Louisville presence expected for collaboration and month-end.
Essential Qualifications
- 5 years in accounting/finance with Controller or strong Finance Manager experience in a services, MSP, or project-based business.
- Proven monthly close, cash management, and multi-entity or multi-department reporting you personally owned.
- Hands-on with revenue recognition, job costing, and billing cycles typical of managed services and IT projects.
- Ability to translate financials for non-finance leaders and drive process change without bureaucracy.
- CPA or equivalent experience preferred; bachelor’s in accounting/finance required.
Role Selling Points
- Seat at the table with accessible owners in a growing, people-first MSP- not a distant corporate finance factory.
- Best Place to Work culture, competitive benefits (health, 401(k) match, PTO, tuition, incentives) from day one.
- Chance to professionalize finance as we scale while keeping the work-hard/play-hard, relationship-driven DNA.
- Louisville-based company with national clients and a 20 year reputation for doing right by people.
