Job description

Arena Direct Hire has partnered with a growth-oriented SaaS and technology company located in DTLA that is hiring a Finance Manager, Accounting & FP&A.

This role will be in person 5 days a week, in their beautifully designed corporate office with secure parking.

This is a hands-on accounting and finance opportunity for someone who wants real ownership, visibility with leadership, and the chance to help build a stronger finance function as the company scales.

The ideal candidate will come from SaaS, software, technology, subscription-based services, recurring revenue, or a similar business environment. This person should enjoy owning the month-end close, managing day-to-day accounting operations, supporting leadership-ready reporting, and improving accounting processes as the business grows.

This role is best suited for someone entrepreneurial, hands-on, and excited by the opportunity to join a growing technology company with long-term expansion plans. The right person will be comfortable working in a lean accounting environment while supporting budgeting, forecasting, cash planning, variance analysis, and better financial visibility for leadership.

Why you will want this role, here is the “what’s in it for you”:

  • Growth opportunity: Step into a visible finance and accounting role with long-term growth potential.
  • Real ownership: Own the month-end close and help manage the accounting function in a lean environment.
  • Hands-on impact: Improve accounting processes, documentation, reporting discipline, and close structure as the company scales.
  • SaaS accounting exposure: Support recurring revenue, deferred revenue, ASC 606, and subscription-based accounting workflows.
  • Leadership visibility: Partner with senior leadership and provide clear, leadership-ready reporting and analysis.
  • Entrepreneurial environment: Join a growing technology company where your work will directly impact how the finance function matures.
  • Balanced scope: This is not a narrow accounting role and not an overbuilt Director-level seat. It is a strong Finance Manager opportunity for someone ready to grow.

Role snapshot:

Industry Focus: SaaS, software, technology, subscription-based services, recurring revenue, or similar business services

What you will own:

  • Own the monthly close process from start to finish.
  • Support quarterly and annual close activities, including reconciliations, accruals, adjustments, and reporting support.
  • Manage the full accounting cycle, including GL, AP, AR, accruals, reconciliations, billing, collections, cash management, and financial reporting.
  • Work closely with one other accounting team member to maintain accurate day-to-day accounting operations.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Support leadership-ready reporting, variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and cash planning.
  • Support SaaS accounting workflows, including ASC 606, recurring revenue, deferred revenue, commissions, and subscription-based accounting activity.
  • Use NetSuite for close, reporting, reconciliations, and accounting workflows.
  • Improve and document accounting processes as the company scales.
  • Help strengthen close discipline, reporting accuracy, and accounting organization without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
  • Partner with leadership on financial visibility, operational support, and scalable accounting processes.

Must-have requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
  • Experience owning or heavily leading the month-end close process.
  • SaaS, software, technology, subscription-based, or recurring revenue experience.
  • Strong GAAP and financial reporting experience.
  • Working knowledge of ASC 606 and SaaS revenue recognition.
  • NetSuite experience is required.
  • Hands-on full-cycle accounting experience, including GL, AP, AR, accruals, reconciliations, billing, collections, cash management, and financial reporting.
  • Experience preparing monthly financial statements and supporting variance analysis.
  • Ability to support budgeting, forecasting, cash planning, and leadership-ready reporting.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to work in a lean environment where the person can both own the details and support broader finance needs.

Nice-to-have requirements:

  • CPA preferred, but not required.
  • Prior hands-on accounting leadership or senior accounting experience.
  • Experience with billing, payment, or integrated SaaS financial systems.
  • Experience improving close processes, workflows, reporting, and accounting documentation.
  • Experience supporting a growing company as accounting and finance processes mature.
  • Round 1: Initial interview with finance and accounting leadership
  • Round 3: Final executive interview

Compensation: $140,000 to $180,000, depending on experience and overall fit.
