Responsibilities

• Own month-end and quarter-end close across investment funds, SPVs, and management entities with GAAP reporting.
• Manage daily fund and corporate accounting activities including investment accounting and revenue recognition.
• Prepare financial statements, investor reports, and board materials monthly/quarterly/annually.
• Build 13-week cash flow forecasts, liquidity reporting, and financial models.
• Partner with CFO to scale accounting infrastructure and automate reporting.
• Lead process improvements and NetSuite optimization for accuracy and automation.
• Coordinate audits, tax reporting, and regulatory compliance with external partners.
• Support build-out of internal fund administration and best-in-class practices.

Job description

A private equity-backed finance platform is seeking a high-caliber accounting professional to join its lean and growing finance team. The firm manages approximately $2B+ in assets and is expanding its internal finance infrastructure. This foundational hire will report directly to the CFO and play a critical role in building scalable accounting and finance processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the month-end and quarter-end close process across investment funds, SPVs, and management company entities, including journal entries, reconciliations, close calendars, and GAAP-compliant financial reporting.
• Manage day-to-day fund and corporate accounting activities, including investment accounting, revenue recognition, management fees, intercompany transactions, capital activity, and cash reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, investor reporting packages, Board materials, and performance analyses for internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain 13-week cash flow forecasts, liquidity reporting, financial models, and ad hoc analyses to support strategic planning and broader FP&A initiatives.
• Partner closely with the CFO to build scalable accounting infrastructure, strengthen internal controls, automate reporting, and improve finance operations across the organization.
• Lead process improvement initiatives by designing standardized accounting procedures, optimizing month-end workflows, and leveraging NetSuite to enhance reporting accuracy, automation, and data integrity.
• Coordinate with external fund administrators, auditors, tax advisors, and valuation specialists while supporting annual audits, tax reporting, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
• Support the continued build-out of the firm's internal fund administration and finance function by implementing scalable processes, improving operational efficiency, and establishing best-in-class accounting practices.

Ideal Background

• 4+ years of experience in Big 4 / Big 10 public accounting and Growth-Stage Business
• CPA or CPA-eligible strongly preferred.
• Strong NetSuite experience, particularly around reporting, automation, and data manipulation.
• Highly analytical with strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
• Adaptable, low-ego mentality with comfort balancing strategic and hands‑on work.
• Hybrid schedule (generally 2 days in-office with flexibility during key periods).
• Lean, fast-moving environment with evolving responsibilities.
