Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a senior finance leader to partner with the CFO and Director of Finance on long-term strategy and operations. The role will oversee Senior Financial Analysts and drive complex financial analysis, budgeting, and performance management across multiple sites.

The ideal candidate brings 5–8 years of progressive financial experience, CPA and/or Master’s degree preferred, and a proven record working with senior leadership and staff in a healthcare-related or complex organization.

Job description

• Support the Chief Financial Officer and Director of Finance with the long-term organizational financial strategy and operations
• Oversee Senior Financial Analysts
• Develop, interpret, and implement complex financial and accounting concepts or techniques
• Support financial planning and control
• Provide financial business development, analytical services, and recommendations
• Influence sound business decisions and guide long-term business planning within West Michigan sites, divisions, or organization-wide
• Manage assigned staff, including hiring, training, supervision, evaluation, discipline, and terminations
• Ensure policies are followed and procedures are updated
• Support Finance training efforts
• Monitor staff competencies, orient new staff, develop goals and objectives, conduct annual performance appraisals, and use performance resolution processes when needed
• Ensure consistent, efficient, and timely month-end reporting
• Monitor department financial reporting and provide guidance on allocations
• Support leadership training regarding financials and key financial metrics
• Manage finance team and department functions to build teamwork and cooperation
• Promote staff educational opportunities and develop future Finance team leadership

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting
• Broad-based experience and knowledge of finance, business planning, cost accounting/service line analysis, and budgeting
• Five to eight years of progressive financial experience
• Strong track record of working successfully with Senior Leadership Team, operations, management, and staff
• Preferred: Master’s degree
• Preferred: Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
• Preferred: Five years of financial analysis experience
• Preferred: Experience in a health care organization
