Job summary

Lumicity is seeking its first dedicated finance leader to build the finance function from the ground up and partner with the CEO on capital strategy, fundraising, and long-term planning. You will own the financial model, cap table, and analytic framework guiding capital allocation as the company scales.

In this high-visibility role you will work directly with the CEO, board, investors, and cross-functional leaders to shape growth from development to commercial operations.

Qualifications

• Approximately 2 years of investment banking experience and 2 years in private equity or strategic finance.
• Ability to build and own complex financial models from scratch.
• Strong knowledge of capital strategy, cap table management, and corporate finance fundamentals.
• Proven track record tracking P&L and translating data into strategic recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills for CEOs, boards, and investors.
• Comfort operating with ambiguity and building structure where none exists.

Responsibilities

• Build and own the long-term forward-looking operating model with revenue, OPEX, headcount and cash runway.
• Develop scenario analyses to support milestones and strategic decisions.
• Track P&L performance and deliver reporting to CEO and board.
• Partner on fundraising design and execution, including equity rounds and non-dilutive funding.
• Own cap table modeling, dilution, and option pool planning.
• Develop GTM models with pricing, market sizing and capacity planning; inform strategy.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting and reporting; manage external accountants and advisors.

Job description

We are hiring our first dedicated finance professional. You will build the company's finance function from the ground up and serve as a key partner to the CEO on capital strategy, fundraising, and long-term planning. You will own the financial model, the cap table, and the analytical framework that guides how we allocate capital and grow the business.

This is a high-visibility, high-impact role for a finance professional who wants to move beyond transactions and into building a company. You will work directly with the CEO, the board, investors, and cross-functional leaders, and you will help shape how the company scales from development stage to commercial operations.

Financial Modeling and Planning

• Build and own the company's long-term, forward-looking operating model, including revenue projections, operating expenses, headcount, and cash runway scenarios
• Develop scenario and sensitivity analyses to support strategic decisions around clinical, regulatory, and commercial milestones
• Track P&L performance against plan and deliver clear, actionable reporting to the CEO and board

Capital Strategy and Fundraising

• Partner with the CEO to design and execute fundraising strategy, including equity rounds, venture debt, and non-dilutive funding
• Prepare investor materials, financial narratives, and data room content
• Lead financial diligence processes and manage investor relationships alongside the CEO
• Own and maintain the cap table, including modeling dilution, option pool planning, and round structuring

Commercial and GTM Strategy

• Partner with commercial and leadership teams to build go-to-market models, including pricing, reimbursement assumptions, market sizing, and sales capacity planning
• Evaluate unit economics and inform commercial strategy with rigorous financial analysis
• Support strategic initiatives such as partnerships, licensing, and potential corporate development opportunities

Corporate Finance and Infrastructure

• Oversee corporate finance activities and establish foundational processes for budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
• Manage relationships with external accountants, auditors, and advisors
• Prepare board materials and support board meeting preparation
• Lay the groundwork for a scalable finance function as the company grows

Required

• Approximately 2 years of investment banking experience, with strong grounding in financial modeling, valuation, and transaction execution
• Approximately 2 years in private equity, or in a strategic finance or advisory role reporting to a CFO
• Demonstrated ability to build and own complex financial models from scratch
• Strong command of capital strategy, cap table management, and corporate finance fundamentals
• Experience tracking P&L and translating financial data into strategic recommendations
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present to CEOs, boards, and investors
• Comfort operating with ambiguity and building structure where none exists

Preferred

• Exposure to healthcare, medical device, life sciences, or deep tech
• Experience supporting a venture fundraising process from the company side
• Familiarity with medical device commercialization dynamics, including reimbursement and hospital purchasing
• Prior startup or high-growth company experience
