Job summary

Chris Baily, a premier litigation boutique, is seeking a Finance Manager to partner with firm leadership and shape financial strategy in a fast-growing environment in NYC.

You will oversee financial reporting, monthly close, and budgeting, with billing operations, payroll review, and cash flow management. The role requires GAAP and IOLTA knowledge and offers hybrid work across NYC, DC, or Chicago.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of accounting/finance experience, including 2+ years in a law firm.
• Experience supervising billing or finance teams.
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP and cash/accrual accounting.
• IOLTA compliance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial reporting, monthly close, and variance analysis.
• Manage AP/AR, billing operations, payroll review, and cash flow.
• Lead budgeting process and support financial planning initiatives.
• Maintain accounting systems, controls, and reconciliations (including partner equity).
• Partner with leadership on financial insights, analysis, and decision‑making.
• Ensure accuracy of client payments, financial data, and reporting processes.
