Job summary

Adecco Permanent Recruitment is working with an established West Michigan manufacturing organization to hire a Finance Manager who will lead accounting and financial operations, oversee reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, and financial analysis. The role requires hands-on leadership of a finance team and collaboration with operations and senior leadership.

The ideal candidate will have extensive manufacturing finance experience, ERP proficiency, and strong cost accounting skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Progressive accounting or finance experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong manufacturing cost accounting background, including standard costing and variance analysis.
• Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close.
• CPA or CMA preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting and financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Manage month-end and year-end close, including reconciliations and financial statements.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Oversee manufacturing cost accounting, including standard costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.
• Analyze financial performance, profitability, margins, and manufacturing costs.
• Partner with operations and plant leadership to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve financial performance.
• Support product costing, pricing analysis, and capital expenditure evaluations.
• Monitor working capital, inventory, and cash flow.
• Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
• Lead, coach, and develop accounting and finance team members.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting, and operational efficiency.

This position will oversee accounting and financial operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, and financial analysis. The role will work closely with operations and senior leadership to help drive financial performance and improve business processes.

We're looking for someone with a strong manufacturing finance background who is comfortable leading a team while remaining hands-on with the day-to-day financial activities of the business.
