Job summary

The University of Maine invites applications for a Lecturer in Finance at the Maine Business School. This full-time, ongoing 10.5-month appointment has a start date of January 1, 2027 and a standard work year from September 1 to July 15.

Qualifications

• MBA or MS in Finance or related master’s degree.
• Minimum five years of professional experience in insurance, risk management, underwriting, actuarial services, employee benefits, or related fields.
• Preferred credentials include CPCU, ARM, CFA, ASA, FCAS, FSA, or comparable professional designation.
• Experience teaching university-level courses and ability to teach Principles of Finance.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate finance courses, including Principles of Finance.
• Support teaching in insurance, enterprise risk management, and financial risk analysis.
• Develop educational offerings related to property and casualty insurance and related fields.
• Collaborate with industry partners & support internships and experiential learning.
• Contribute to curriculum innovation and AACSB accreditation activities.
• Teach four courses each fall and spring; two courses in summer (online).
• Provide service to the School, University, profession, and community.
