Job summary

AMETEK, Inc. in San Diego seeks a seasoned Business Segment Controller for Programmable Power and IntelliPower. You will lead site finance, oversee month‑end closes, and drive cost accounting and inventory management in a manufacturing setting.

This hands‑on role requires producing reports, forecasts, and budgets, coordinating audits, and implementing process improvements. You will mentor a finance team, partner with operations, and ensure SOX compliance while improving working capital and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 10 years of relevant experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a manager or above.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX, and ASC 606 – experience with monthly/quarterly closings; experience with compliance and documentation.
• Strong cost accounting skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial leadership for the site.
• Train, mentor, and coach the current team to build a talent pipeline.
• Responsible for the month‑end closing process.
• Responsible for weekly/monthly orders, sales, profit & working capital forecasts.
• Review monthly journal entries and reconciliations to ensure close timelines are met.
• Accountable for product costing and profitability analyses by customer and product.
• Responsible for inventory management incl. valuation, BOMs, standard costs, and overhead.
• Responsible for the annual operating budget completion.
• Provide financial leadership that improves working capital management.
• Oversee monthly/quarterly/annual reporting packages and audits.
