Job summary

Occulytics Inc. in Chicago is hiring its first finance leader to own the full finance function from day one, starting with billing, collections and the monthly close, then building the function the company will rely on for the next five years, with a path to CFO as the business scales.

You will partner directly with the CEO on pricing, hiring and growth decisions, implement scalable systems and controls (including Xero, Gusto and Carta), and design the operating model and budget that leadership

Qualifications

• 5+ years in finance or accounting at a high-growth B2B SaaS or tech company.
• Hands-on experience with the monthly close, revenue recognition (ASC 606) and financial reporting.
• SaaS metrics fluency; ability to build NRR from ledger data and explain movements.
• Ambitious and ready for ownership beyond current role.

Responsibilities

• Own the full finance function from day one: billing, collections and monthly close.
• Deliver a clean, on-time monthly close in Xero with correct revenue recognition.
• Show how Data Platform and Advisory make money: gross margin, contribution, payroll allocation.
• Own SaaS and data metrics: ARR, net/gross revenue retention, CAC payback, burn and runway.
• Build operating model and budget; provide forecasts leadership can act on.
• Design scalable processes, payroll (Gusto), equity (Carta), tax and multi-state compliance; decide what to automate or outsource.
