Job summary

Western Digital Corp. is seeking a Director of Finance to partner with Product & Engineering, guiding end-to-end budget planning and analysis. You will work with R&D, Product Management, and Corporate Finance to drive OpEx, CapEx and headcount planning at scale.

You will lead a team of five financial analysts, deliver executive-level reports, and ensure timely decision-making in a fast-moving tech environment. This role is based in California and offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting; MBA, CFA, or equivalent preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive Finance/FP&A experience with tech/engineering exposure.
• Strong spend management, workforce planning, forecasting and financial modeling.
• Excellent analytical, communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary finance partner for Product & Engineering budget management.
• Translate business and product strategies into financial plans with executives.
• Manage a team of 5 financial analysts.
• Oversee headcount planning, non-labor forecasting, and capex reporting.
• Produce concise executive reporting on R&D spend, trends, risks and opportunities.
• Lead monthly review meetings with VP and SVP level staff.
• Review and approve month-end journal entries for service POs.
• Collaborate with operations to understand program forecasts.
