Job summary

Highgate Hotels is seeking an Assistant Director of Finance to lead accounting operations for a portfolio of properties in the United States. The role focuses on accurate monthly financial reporting, cash flow management, and internal controls while supporting owners and investors with timely analyses.

The ideal candidate has a strong accounting background, hospitality finance experience, and proven leadership to mentor staff and drive improvements across budgets and forecasts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• Strong PC skills including Excel and Word.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Hospitality financial management experience desirable.
• Ability to coach and develop staff while meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist Director of Finance in timely preparation of monthly financial statements for the property.
• Prepare, monitor, and record hotel revenues daily; identify variances to budget and prior year.
• Monitor cash flow and operating forecasts; ensure operations stay on track.
• Coordinate with Department Heads to maintain control and reporting standards.
• Prepare monthly bank and general ledger reconciliations.
• Supervise accounting staff and enforce internal controls and policies.
• Analyze financial data to support leadership decisions and hotel objectives.
• In supervision of Finance hire and train staff; support development and coaching.
