Role Overview

As our Finance Lead (m/f/d), you will play a pivotal role in shaping Workpath’s financial strategy and driving key initiatives across fundraising, reporting, and investor relations. This role goes beyond traditional finance functions; you will be a strategic partner to the leadership team, aligning internal and external stakeholders while influencing critical business decisions.

You will work closely with our Managing Director Stephanie and the leadership team to develop and execute our financial strategy, improve reporting and forecasting capabilities, and support sustainable growth through proactive financial planning and accountability.

As owner of our core financial processes, you will work with the Finance team and our tax consultants to ensure accuracy in our financial foundation as well as compliance with existing regulations.

If you thrive in a fast-paced, scaling SaaS environment and are ready to take ownership, we’d love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities
  1. Finance Business Partner: Be a strong business partner for the whole organization, from sales, marketing, to product, tech, and people (including monthly budget check-ins and business reviews with the leadership team). Work closely with RevOps to derive insights and influence decision-making across the business on go-to-market strategies, pricing, and compensation.
  2. Financial Planning and Analysis:
  3. Budgeting & Financial Planning: Drive the budgeting process and provide actionable financial insights for decision-making.
  4. Rolling Forecasts: Maintain and improve rolling forecasts with variance analysis, integrating cash flow insights, and ensuring alignment with budgets.
  5. Cashflow Management: Monitor and forecast cash flow to ensure liquidity and support strategic planning.
  6. Investor Relations: Prepare monthly investor updates and input for quarterly board meetings, independently and at a high quality level. Enhance reporting capabilities to ensure accuracy, transparency, and actionable insights.
  7. Accounting & Compliance: Lead monthly and annual financial closings, ensuring accurate financial statements in collaboration with auditors and tax consultants.
  8. Accounts Payable: Own and manage the AP process, authorize payments, and manage treasury tasks, including bank accounts.
  9. Accounts Receivable & Revenue Recognition: Own and manage the AR process, ensuring accurate invoicing and revenue recognition for software and services.
  10. Payroll Management: Maintain oversight and serve as a sparring partner for payroll activities conducted by our People Ops team.
Requirements
  • Excellent knowledge in finance, focusing on outcome-oriented financial operations and strategy, not only standard reporting.
  • 3-5 years relevant experience in finance, controlling, or consulting with a focus on finance; experience in SaaS startups is a plus.
  • Judgment to be pragmatic while maintaining high quality, diligence, and reliability.
  • Proactive mindset with a passion for building and driving continuous improvement.
What We Offer
  • Steep Learning Curve: High-impact role with significant responsibility, direct exposure to executive decision-making, shaping and leading strategic initiatives.
  • Passionate and Ambitious Team: Work directly with founders, Managing Directors, and board members to learn and build together.
  • Professional Growth: Autonomy and support for important projects, with a feedback and development cycle including 360-degree feedback twice a year.
  • Health and Wellbeing: Prioritizing mental health with support from OpenUp.
  • Competitive Compensation: Attractive salary, stock options, personal development budget, and other benefits.
  • Non-cash Benefits: Benefit from a 50€ in-kind benefit through our partner Hrmony.
