Job summary

Steel Dynamics, Inc. in Columbia City, IN, invites motivated undergraduates pursuing Finance or Accounting to join our Summer 2027 Finance Internship. You will perform financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, gaining hands-on exposure to both technical and strategic aspects of corporate finance.

Work with a cross-functional team, participate in projects that impact real business decisions, and build communication and analytical skills in a dynamic industrial metals environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work with management, clients, and vendors.
• Self-motivated with ability to complete tasks independently.
• Strong organizational skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with financial analysis, reporting, and forecasting to support decision-making.
• Prepare and update spreadsheets, presentations, and reports using Microsoft Office.
• Support the finance team in budgeting, expense tracking, and variance analysis.
• Conduct research and gather financial data to provide insights on performance, trends, and competitors.
• Collaborate with team members and departments on finance-related projects.
• Participate in meetings with internal teams, clients, or vendors as needed.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness on tasks and deadlines.
• Apply analytical and problem-solving skills to daily financial operations.
