Job summary

Mars is seeking a Senior Analyst Finance in Chicago to serve as the financial backbone of the Global Snacking Innovation incubator. You will build cost architecture, unit economics, and drive P&L reporting for rapid product tests.

You will own period-close processes, intercompany accounting, tax compliance, and partnering with Mars Global Services to ensure accurate governance while supporting new growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related quantitative field (Advanced degree / master’s is a plus).
• 1–2+ years of foundational accounting or finance experience with hands-on exposure to GL accounting, period close cycles, and financial reporting.
• Solid grasp of GAAP principles, debits and credits, depreciation, balance sheet reconciliations, and P&L dynamics.
• Strong working command of Microsoft Excel and enterprise ERP environments, specifically SAP (Atlas) and intercompany cross-charge structures.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial modeling for pipeline concepts, including cost architecture, forecasting, profitability analysis, and finance support for POCs, pilots, test markets, and incubation initiatives.
• Lead period-end and year-end close activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, cost allocations, and project accounting integrity.
• Deliver project P&Ls, variance analysis, and management reporting while partnering with Mars Global Services and Controllership teams on reconciliations, complex GL activity, and intercompany transactions.
• Manage corporate tax reporting for the TCE entity, including state and local sales tax compliance across emerging Direct-to-Consumer channels.
• Maintain a strong internal control environment by identifying risks, strengthening governance, and balancing compliance needs with the speed of innovation and pilot launches.
