Job summary

Menlo Inc. is seeking a Director of Finance to own the accounting and financial reporting function, and to oversee payroll, benefits, and employment compliance.

This hands‑on leadership role combines Controller responsibilities with HR administration, reporting to the CEO and supervising the Staff Accountant and Recruiter. The ideal candidate will lead the monthly close, produce GAAP financial statements, manage cash and internal controls, and drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of GAAP and full‑cycle close.
• Experience managing payroll, benefits, and HR compliance.
• Strong Excel and financial modeling proficiency.
• Ability to translate data into clear business insights for the CEO.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close and produce GAAP‑compliant financial statements.
• Oversee general ledger, intercompany, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage accounts payable/receivable, billing, and cash flow.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Coordinate with outside auditors on year‑end close and tax filings.
• Ensure payroll, benefits, and HR compliance processes.
• Maintain internal controls and drive process improvements across finance and HR.
• Support pricing, profitability analysis, and service line performance.
• Provide financial and HR guidance to management.
