Job summary

Menlo Inc. is seeking a Director of Finance to own the accounting and financial reporting, while supervising HR administration. This hands-on leader combines controller responsibilities with payroll, benefits, and compliance oversight.

You will close books, produce statements, lead budgeting/forecasting, manage cash, and maintain internal controls in a lean admin function. Reports to the CEO and leads a small team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Seven+ years of progressive accounting experience, incl. Controller/assistant Controller.
• At least 3 years in a leadership role supervising staff.
• Experience with payroll oversight, benefits, and HR compliance preferred.
• CPA, CMA, SHRM-CP, or PHR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close and GAAP financial statements.
• Lead budgeting and rolling forecasts; provide variance analyses.
• Maintain general ledger, chart of accounts, and reconciliations.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, banking relations, and debt reporting.
• Oversee payroll, benefits, and retirement plan administration.
• Develop internal controls and risk management processes.
• Provide financial and HR guidance to executives and management.
