Job summary

Rutgers University is seeking a Business Manager I for the Institute for Nicotine and Tobacco Studies (INTS) in New Brunswick, NJ. This role manages all financial aspects, supports grant budgets, and ensures compliance with university policy and federal regulations.

The position collaborates with RBHS and central administration to streamline processes and improve efficiency. The candidate will analyze financial data, prepare budgets, and drive performance management for INTS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a Finance, Accounting, Business or related field.
• Five years of related financial management experience in university finance; two years supervisory.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Equivalent education and/or training may be substituted.

Responsibilities

• Provides financial oversight, development, implementation and management of operational budgets, endowments, gifts, program income, and discretionary accounts across the Institute.
• Supports development of the Institute's annual operating budget and alignment with strategic priorities.
• Monitors performance and explains variances; reviews revenue and expenses and forecasts financial impacts.
• Prepares and reviews budgets for sponsored and non-sponsored projects; handles journal entries, transfers, and allocations.
• Supports pre-award activities and ensures compliance with regulations; assists with Other Support documentation.
