Job summary

The Jewish Federations of North America is seeking an Assistant Director, Finance and Grants for the Center on Aging, Trauma, and Holocaust Survivor Care in Washington, DC. The role combines budget management, grant oversight, and financial analysis to support subgrantees and center programs.

The ideal candidate brings at least five years of nonprofit budget experience, strong Excel and reporting skills, and the ability to collaborate with a remote team across the U.S. and with federal funders.

Qualifications

• Five years of nonprofit budget experience with grant management.
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Experience with federal grants and CFR knowledge preferred.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; detail-oriented.
• Excellent verbal, written, and quantitative skills.
• Capable of maintaining confidentiality with sound judgement.
• Willingness to travel domestically.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic guidance on financial processes and subgrantee oversight.
• Review annual budgets and quarterly reports for grant-funded projects.
• Deliver financial TA to subgrantees and develop solutions.
• Draft budgets, narratives, and reports for federal and non-federal grants.
• Create and update reporting procedures to improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with Finance Department and external partners.
• Participate in site visits and meetings.
• Manage and support other projects as requested.
