Job summary

NiSource is seeking a Summer Finance - Financial Planning & Analysis Intern in Columbus, OH. You will join the Finance department, learn in a team environment, and contribute to meaningful projects while developing professional relationships across NiSource.

The 12-week internship begins in May 2027. The role requires residence within 50 miles of the reporting location and offers hands-on exposure to financial planning and analysis within a utility company.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in accredited university with major in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related business discipline
• Completion of intermediate-level coursework required
• Preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Strong financial acumen and analytical ability
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Excel and Word
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Assist in building long-range financial plans
• Conduct budget-to-actual analysis
• Prepare operating expense forecasts and variance analyses
• Produce monthly and quarterly management reports
