Job summary

NiSource seeks a Summer People Analytics Intern to join its Human Resources organization for a 12-week program beginning May 2027 in Columbus, OH. You will learn in a collaborative team setting, support projects with managers, and build professional relationships across NiSource.

Eligible students will study in Data Analytics, Statistics, or related fields with quantitative focus; proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and Python is valued. Applicants must reside within 50 miles of Columbus, Ohio.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited university with major in related discipline such as Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Industrial Organizational Psychology, Business Analytics, Human Resources with strong quantitative focus
• Completion of intermediate-level coursework
• Preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Team oriented
• Self-motivated with drive for results
• Time management skills
• Business acumen and problem solving skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Solid organizational skills and attention to detail
• Advanced experience with Excel
• Experience with Power BI
• Experience with Python
• Experience with data visualization, survey analysis, and data cleaning and validation

Responsibilities

• Becoming an integral member of NiSource's Human Resources department while learning within a team environment
• Collaborate with managers on important projects and participate in rewarding professional development exercises
• Build professional relationships with other interns and NiSource personnel
• Obtain a broad overview of NiSource's operations and current events in the utilities industry
