Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Finance Systems Product Owner to lead the vision and roadmap for our accounting platforms. You will translate complex accounting requirements into clear features, align systems with GAAP and controls, and drive automation across financial workflows.

You will partner with Finance, FP&A, Treasury, Audit, Compliance, and product teams to deliver prioritized capabilities on schedule. Strong communication and stakeholder management are essential for success in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field.
• 3–7 years of product ownership or financial systems experience.
• Strong GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting knowledge.
• Ability to translate financial requirements into technical specs.
• CPA or CMA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the product vision and roadmap for finance and accounting systems.
• Translate accounting, audit, and compliance requirements into product features and actionable requirements.
• Align systems with GAAP, internal controls, and enterprise financial strategy.
• Identify opportunities for automation, process optimization, and modernization of financial workflows.
• Partner with Finance, FP&A, Treasury, Audit, Compliance, SBP, and product teams.
• Serve as liaison between finance stakeholders, BSP teams, and product teams.
• Own and prioritize the product backlog.
• Write user stories, accounting requirements, and acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate with BSP teams to deliver features and enhancements on schedule.
• Validate solutions through testing, stakeholder feedback, and financial reviews.
• Ensure data integrity across interconnected systems and financial data flows.
• Support audit readiness through controls, traceability, and documentation.
• Evaluate product performance and identify improvement areas.
• Communicate product impact through dashboards, reporting, and presentations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
• 3–7 years of experience in product ownership, financial systems, or accounting operations
• Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting processes
• Experience with Core Business Systems such as Oracle, WorkSight, and enterprise reporting systems
• Ability to translate financial requirements into technical specifications
• Excellent communication, prioritization, and stakeholder management skills
• Preferred CPA, CMA, or similar accounting certification
• Preferred background in Agile and Lean methodologies and cross-functional product delivery
• Familiarity with data analytics, financial modeling, or BI tools
