Job summary

Weekday 1 is seeking a senior finance domain expert to work with a leading AI lab's research and program management teams, focusing on how frontier AI models reason about real financial work.

This hybrid Bay Area role requires on-site presence several days a week; relocation at your own cost if not already there. You will review finance knowledge work, write instruction specs, and help build benchmarks that reflect how the work is actually done.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of substantive, dedicated professional finance experience at a recognized institution.
• Genuine specialization in at least one core finance discipline (e.g., FP&A, investment banking, asset management).
• Senior IC or leadership level with ownership of analysis and decisions.
• Advanced degree and/or professional credential such as CFA, CPA, FRM.
• Hands-on use of large language models in professional work.
• Availability to commit 40 hours per week for a 6-month engagement.
• Bay Area living and on-site work eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Review the quality of finance knowledge work tasks and model outputs — spotting missing behaviors, thin reasoning, flawed assumptions, and answers that read well but would not survive professional scrutiny.
• Write instruction specs and golden solutions for financial problems, and define new finance tasks reflecting how work is actually done.
• Design challenging finance tasks and evaluation sets, and help build finance-specific skills and tools with the research team.
• Calibrate standards by working with client researchers to translate tacit financial judgment into explicit, teachable criteria.
