Job summary

Sole Construction Partners is seeking a Director of Finance to serve as a strategic partner to the CFO and second-in-command, guiding budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and decision support. This role leads a high-performing finance team and partners with operations to drive profitability across multiple construction entities.

The ideal candidate will be forward-thinking, systems-oriented, and data-driven, with a track record of elevating analytical rigor and developing teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience with FP&A leadership.
• Strong financial modeling skills required.
• Background in job costing, WIP, and project-based financial reporting preferred.
• Proficiency with Sage Intacct, SQL Server, Power BI, and Alteryx is a strong advantage.
• Demonstrated success leading and developing finance professionals.

Responsibilities

• Lead forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning processes.
• Develop robust financial models to support scenario planning and business cases.
• Analyze financial and operational trends to identify performance risks, opportunities, and cost drivers.
• Deliver timely reporting and executive-level insights for strategic decisions.
• Partner with Controllers to analyze job profitability and drivers; standardize processes across entities.
• Prepare variance analyses with explanations and actionable recommendations.
• Coach and develop finance team members; build a culture of analytical excellence.
• Collaborate with operations to translate performance into financial insights; develop KPIs.
