Job summary

The Superior Court of California, County of Riverside, seeks a Director of Finance to provide strategic financial leadership in a large, complex public-sector environment. You will oversee accounting, budget, revenue, and fiscal administration, and lead a professional team.

You'll guide budget development, strengthen controls, and deliver sophisticated analysis to inform executive decisions. The role emphasizes accuracy, accountability, and service excellence across court operations.

Qualifications

• Six years of increasingly responsible professional budget and/or accounting experience, including two years of supervisory or management experience.
• A qualifying master's degree, CPA, or CMA may substitute for two years of the required experience; more substitution possible year-for-year.
• Experience in a California Trial Court or government agency; CPA/CMA credentials and PMP certification are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight for accounting, budgeting, revenue, and financial operations.
• Lead development, administration, and presentation of the Court's annual budget.
• Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, goals, and performance standards.

Education

Bachelor's degree in public or business administration, accounting, finance, economics, or related field

Master's degree, CPA, or CMA may substitute for two years of experience

Experience in California Trial Court or government agency; CPA/CMA and PMP desirable
