Job summary

Omni New Haven Hotel is seeking a Director of Finance to lead the hotel accounting and control functions, ensuring timely reporting and compliance with Omni policies. This role supports the General Manager and Omni Corporate Team with financial insights and strategic guidance.

The ideal candidate brings 4+ years of Director of Finance experience in a hotel setting, strong ledger and closing expertise, and excellent communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• A BS or BA in Business Administration with concentration in Accounting/Finance highly preferred but not required.
• 4+ years' experience as a hotel/resort Director of Finance.
• Must have previous hotel experience.
• Must have experience as an Assistant Controller or Public Accounting Senior/Management.
• Full general ledger experience and month end closing experience is preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively; work under pressure.
• Exceptional organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all accounting functions.
• Prepare the financial statements within the time frames supplied in the corporate closing schedule and according to Omni Policies and Procedures.
• Analyze and interpret financial results to assist and advise the General Manager and Omni Corporate Team.
• Maintain balance sheet analysis on a monthly basis with supporting detail.
• Prepare accurate cash flow statements and projections monthly and on request.
• Prepare timely tax and other external reports or returns as deemed necessary.
• Ensure compliance with management agreement and related documents; translate into financial responsibilities for hotel and Corporate.
• Maintain controls per policies and procedures and ensure timely submission of reports, budgets, forecasts, and variances.
