Job summary

Vermont League of Cities and Towns seeks a Director of Financial Operations to lead the Town’s financial activities, oversee AP/AR, payroll, GL, month-end close, and support budget development with department heads and the Town Administrator.

The role requires fluent governmental fund accounting, CPA or CPFO credentials, and direct municipal fund accounting experience; NEMRC experience is a strong advantage.

Qualifications

• Fluent in governmental and business fund accounting.
• Direct experience with municipal fund accounting strongly preferred.
• Credentials such as CPA/CPFO or a public-finance degree are valued.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the Town's financial operations including controls over AP/AR, payroll, GL, and month-end close.
• Assist in annual budget development with department heads and Town Administrator; multi-year forecasting.
