Job summary

Unboxed Group in Los Angeles is seeking a Director of Finance to own the financial engine of the agency. You will design systems, automate processes, and run the close, forecast, budget, and margin analyses across projects.

As the first full-time finance hire, you will partner with Operations, HR, and leadership to scale finance globally (US/UK). Experience building Airtable-based workflows and managing multi-state tax is highly valued.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive finance and accounting with full ownership of close, forecast and budgeting.
• Experience in a creative agency, production company, or project-based business with heavy third-party vendor spend.
• Ownership of cash forecasting, budgeting, scenario modeling and labor/capacity models.
• Built financial workflows inside systems (Airtable preferred) and automated processes.
• Receivables management, multi-state tax, and ability to communicate financial realities to creative/production leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own the rolling cash flow forecast and keep cash position visible weekly.
• Lead annual budgeting, quarterly reforecasts and rolling 12-month plan.
• Provide margin visibility across projects, clients, and departments.
• Model labor and capacity; optimize headcount and utilization.
• Own AR end-to-end: invoicing accuracy, aging and escalation; manage relationships with client finance teams.
