Job description

The City of Puyallup is seeking a dynamic leader to join our Executive Leadership Team as our next Finance Director. The department provides administration of accounting and payroll services for the City, plans and implements the City’s budget, and oversees the utility billing function. Thirteen employees serve in this department.

Depending upon qualifications, the salary range for the Finance Director is $157,104 - $201,084 annually.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, accounting, finance or related field and five years of management experience in higher-level governmental accounting, budgeting, fiscal management or related activities required; or a combination of education, experience, and training that indicates the ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the position listed above.
  • CGFM (Certified Government Finance Manager), CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or master's degree in related field preferred.
  • Must be bondable.
  • Possession of or the ability to obtain, and maintain throughout employment, a valid Washington State driver's license.
