City of Maryville (MO) seeks a Finance Director to lead accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting for all city funds. The exempt role reports to the City Manager and City Council and oversees payroll, debt management, grants, and audits.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in public finance, CPA/CFPO credentials preferred, and a track record of directing complex financial operations in municipal government.
Under the supervision of the City Manager and City Council, the Finance Director is an exempt position that performs responsible accounting, finance, and managerial duties for the entire City operations. This professional position will plan, direct, manage and oversee the financial operation and reporting of all city funds, including budget, audit, cash management, debt management, utility rate structure, and compliance with applicable laws and accounting standards. The position participates in the formulation and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities of the administration to provide highly responsible and complex administrative support to the City Manager and elected officials.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from college or university; and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
