Job summary

Sprague Hotel Developers is seeking an experienced Financial Director to oversee financial operations, strengthen accounting processes, and provide strategic financial guidance to leadership. This role balances hands-on accounting oversight with big-picture planning, compliance, and team development.

This leader will drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting while partnering with executives to shape growth initiatives and profitability across hotel projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• Progressive experience in accounting, finance leadership, or financial management.
• Experience with Acumatica or similar cloud-based ERP/accounting software and 3rd-party payroll processing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day financial operations, accounting management, and reporting activities.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain strong internal controls.
• Lead cost analysis, budgeting support, forecasting, and financial performance review.
• Manage general ledger activity, reconciliations, month-end close, and related accounting processes.
• Review and analyze financial statements to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Lead, mentor, and support accounting team members while fostering accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
• Partner with leadership to provide financial insights that support strategic decision-making.
• Perform other finance and accounting duties as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day financial operations, accounting management, and reporting activities.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain strong internal controls.
• Lead cost analysis, budgeting support, forecasting, and financial performance review.
• Manage general ledger activity, reconciliations, month-end close, and related accounting processes.
• Review and analyze financial statements to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Lead, mentor, and support accounting team members while fostering accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
• Partner with leadership to provide financial insights that support strategic decision-making.

• High attention to detail with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
