Job summary

University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Finance Data Integrity Analyst to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data and support chart of accounts maintenance. You will work with process owners and campus leaders to clean and organize data and contribute to internal control improvements.

Responsibilities include tracking data quality issues, implementing data governance, and leveraging Power BI, Cognos, or Tableau to analyze data.

  • Advanced proficiency in accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience leading automation projects.
  • Experience in analyzing large quantities of data.
  • Experience analyzing and documenting business requirements, workflows, rules and processes.
  • Experience with data analytic and reporting programs (Power BI, Cognos, Tableau) and/or SQL.
  • Strong proficiency with analytical tools, including Microsoft Excel.

General Notes The Financial and Administrative Services office is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Data Integrity Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, supporting the maintenance and enhancement of the chart of accounts, and assisting with the implementation of internal controls. The Finance Data Integrity Analyst will work closely with business process owners, subject matter experts, and campus leadership to clean and organize financial data, track data quality issues, and contribute to accounting process improvements. Required Qualifications
  • Advanced proficiency in accuracy and attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem solving.
  • Experience leading automation projects.
  • Experience in analyzing large quantities of data.
  • Experience analyzing and documenting business requirements, workflows, rules and processes.
  • Experience with data analytic and reporting programs (e.g. Power BI, Cognos, Tableau) and/or SQL.
  • Strong proficiency with analytical tools, including Microsoft Excel.
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field, such as finance, economics, marketing, math, information technology, or computer science.
  • Familiarity with The University of Texas at Austin’s Accounting system (*DEFINE).
  • Work experience in a higher education or government environment and in a business analyst role.
Salary Range

$68,000 + depending on qualifications

Working Conditions

This position allows for remote work. Standard Office Keyboard Work Shift Monday - Friday (Standard eight-hour workday).

Employment Eligibility

Regular staff who have been employed in their current position for the last six continuous months are eligible for openings being recruited for through University-Wide or Open Recruiting, to include both promotional opportunities and lateral transfers. Staff who are promotion/transfer eligible may apply for positions without supervisor approval.

Retirement Plan Eligibility

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.

Background Checks

A criminal history background check will be required for finalist(s) under consideration for this position.
