Job summary

SegPay is seeking an experienced Business Intelligence (BI) Database Developer to join our Operations team and design, develop, and maintain the database and BI solutions supporting our payment-processing environment.

This role blends database development, data integration, reporting, and cloud data warehousing, working with SQL Server, ETL/ELT, and BI tools to transform complex financial data into actionable insights for the business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, IT, or related field.
• 3–5 years of professional database development or BI experience.
• Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience developing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects.
• ETL/ELT processes and data connectors.
• BI/reporting tools experience.
• Knowledge of data warehouse concepts.
• Experience with cloud data technologies.
• Experience with financial transaction or payment data.
• Understanding of PCI DSS requirements.
• Experience in Agile development.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain database schemas to support business and reporting needs.
• Develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
• Build and maintain ETL/ELT processes and data integrations.
• Develop reports and dashboards using tools such as SSRS, Power BI, or Tableau.
• Work with cloud data warehouse technologies such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
• Validate financial transaction data for accuracy and integrity.
• Collaborate with DevOps on deployments and production support.
• Participate in Agile development processes.
• Monitor and improve database performance; troubleshoot production database and reporting issues.
• Maintain appropriate data security and integrity controls.
• Support documentation and PCI-related requirements.
