Job summary

Gentherm Incorporated in Novi, MI offers a Summer Finance Internship to develop professional skills through a hands-on project involving KPI definitions, dashboards, and financial reporting.

You'll work with Finance and cross-functional teams, present findings to leadership, and participate in executive sessions; program runs May 17 to Aug 6, 2027. On-site four days a week for students who have completed freshman year and are pursuing Finance/Accounting/Analytics degrees.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled and have finished freshman year by the start of the internship program.
• Familiar with Microsoft products.
• Able to be on-site 4–5 days a week at our facilities in Novi, Michigan.
• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, MIS, or related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to organize, interpret, and summarize data.
• Experience using Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and modeling.
• Interest in financial reporting, KPIs, and process improvement.
• Ability to communicate findings effectively through written, verbal, and presentation formats.
• Experience with data visualization, reporting tools, BI applications, or AI technologies preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and collaborate cross-functionally within teams.

Responsibilities

• Inventory and document Finance KPI definitions, calculations, data sources, and reporting processes across global regions.
• Develop standardized KPI definitions, governance processes, and reporting frameworks to improve consistency and transparency.
• Create dashboards and management reports comparing actual, budget, forecast, and prior-year performance.
• Perform financial and operational variance analysis to identify key business drivers and insights.
• Support design, testing, and implementation of an AI-enabled Finance reporting agent.
• Collaborate with Finance and cross-functional teams to improve reporting efficiency and data quality.
• Present project findings and recommendations to Finance leadership and executives.
