Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking a lawyer with 3–5 years of renewable energy project finance experience to advise on tax equity, debt financings, and project documentation related to solar, wind, and storage projects. You will work with AES team members and outside counsel to coordinate closings and structuring of complex financings.

The role requires strong communication and the ability to navigate fast-paced environments while delivering strategic legal support to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant experience, preferably at a major law firm or sophisticated in-house legal group.
• Experience in renewable energy project finance, project development and project-related documentation.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

Responsibilities

• Attend to all aspects and issues related to renewable project development and financing, with focus on financing of solar, wind, and storage projects.
• Act as internal counsel on tax equity, tax credit transfer and debt financings.
• Structure, draft, review and negotiate financing transactions and project-related documents such as PPA, EPC contracts.
• Manage and coordinate closings with AES team members and outside counsel.
• Provide general legal counsel and strategic guidance to senior management.
