Job summary

Bayer CropScience Limited in Muscatine, IA, seeks a Financial Specialist Intern to assist with budgeting, product costing, and monthly closing on a chemical manufacturing site. You will work with site leaders and project managers to ensure accurate financial planning and reporting.

The role requires pursuing a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, strong Excel skills, and willingness to work in a manufacturing environment at the Muscatine site.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Ag Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Ability to commute daily to Muscatine, IA.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop the annual operating budget for the site.
• Develop annual product cost rollups for product cost standards.
• Analyze cost center spending and value flow against the operational plan.
• Develop periodic cost estimates.
• Be accountable for account reconciliations and communicate significant impacts.
• Collaborate with site leadership and operations teams to understand drivers of financial impacts.
• Collaborate with project managers on Capital vs. Expense guidelines.
• Analyze and explain changes in product standards.
• Develop monthly and quarterly forecasts for Crop Protection sites with functional leaders.
• Analyze actual vs budget/forecast performance.
• Provide written feedback to the Site Controller on variances.
