Job summary

Access Medical Laboratories seeks a seasoned Finance Leader to oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. You will manage monthly/quarterly/annual statements, close processes, and GL reconciliations while guiding audits and regulatory compliance.

The role also drives strategic planning, dashboards, and cash-flow management, partnering with management to optimize performance and decision-making. Located in New York with a strong focus on governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• CPA/ACCA/ACA/CMA/CIMA or equivalent preferred.
• Typically 5–10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including supervisory/management.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems and advanced spreadsheet applications.

Responsibilities

• Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Maintain the general ledger and oversee account reconciliations.
• Review financial results and investigate significant variances.
• Ensure accounting transactions are recorded accurately and consistently.
• Maintain appropriate accounting policies and procedures.
• Monitor actual financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
• Prepare management reports, financial analyses, and dashboards.
• Analyze revenue, expenses, margins, cash flow, and other key indicators.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to management.
• Support business planning and strategic decision-making.
• Develop, implement, and maintain internal financial controls.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and address audit findings.
• Monitor cash flow and working capital requirements.
• Manage banking relationships and reconciliations.
• Oversee payments and cash management.
• Prepare cash-flow forecasts and identify funding needs.
• Monitor accounts receivable/payable and working-capital performance.
• Coordinate tax and statutory filings with external advisors.
