Job summary

American Trucking Associations is seeking a Controller in Washington, DC to partner with the CFO to oversee financial services, systems, procedures and controls. The role requires GAAP expertise, CPA consideration, and 5–7 years in accounting with supervisory experience.

Travel is less than 5% and collaboration with multiple teams is essential. Responsibilities include payroll oversight, general ledger management, audit coordination, and budget preparation.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statements.
• Experience with payroll, budgeting and financial reporting processes.
• Ability to communicate financial information to non-financial staff.
• CPA preferred or CPA-exam in progress.

Responsibilities

• Maintain detailed accounting practices with big-picture oversight.
• Develop and document controls for new financial processes.
• Oversee payroll, AP, AR and general ledger activities.
• Manage audit process and liaise with auditors and tax advisors.
• Prepare annual budget with CFO and ensure timely financial reporting.
