Job summary

G.E. Mechanical, LLC is seeking a hands-on Controller to maintain accurate financial records and lead the Finance Department.

You will drive month-end close, manage billing, and oversee cash flow in a full-service mechanical contracting environment serving NJ and nearby regions. The role requires 5+ years in construction accounting and a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, with strong leadership, analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in construction accounting or similar role.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Preferred experience with WIP, revenue recognition, job costing, change orders and project/service billing.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with strong organizational skills.
• Excellent leadership, analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the daily operations of the Finance Department and personnel.
• Own monthly close, general ledger and intercompany reconciliations.
• Prepare, review and analyze financial statements including P&L and Balance Sheet.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and revenue recognition for projects.
• Oversee accounts receivable, collections and cash forecasting.
• Monitor bid contracts, budget and forecasting, and respond to ad hoc financial requests.
