Job summary

Total Comfort Heating & Air is seeking a seasoned Controller to lead the accounting and financial operations for the Fredericksburg service center. You will partner with the General Manager and leaders across departments to improve financial performance, strengthen internal controls, and drive growth in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance with 5+ years of general‑accounting experience, plus JD Edwards, Excel, and advanced analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• At least five years of progressive general‑accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP required.
• Experience with ERP or computerized accounting systems; JD Edwards a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills and solid Microsoft Office knowledge.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication.
• Ability to build cross‑department relationships and manage priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting and financial-control activities for the service center.
• Partner with the GM and department leaders on financial planning and performance.
• Oversee budgets, forecasts, and inventory controls.
• Analyze financials across multiple functions and provide insights.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and annual plans.
• Manage month-end and year-end closings; reconcile balances.
• Oversee billing, credits, and collections.
• Recruit, develop, and lead the local accounting team.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
