Job summary

Chartwells Higher Education is seeking a Finance Controller (hospitality) for the Baylor University campus dining team in Waco, TX. You will advise on day-to-day operations and financial performance across multiple foodservice locations, ensuring accurate accounting and reporting while collaborating with the leadership team.

The ideal candidate will have bookkeeping, finance, and accounting expertise, strong internal controls, and proficiency in Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2+ years in revenue control, financial reporting, trend analysis, and cash handling.
• Experience in foodservice or retail accounting.
• Strong planning and organizational skills; ability to manage complex processes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Proficient with Excel; POS experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all cash handling procedures
• Perform reconciliation and analysis for balance sheet accounts
• Analyze financial results for internal and external use
• Track and maintain monthly P/L and balance sheet activity
• Develop forecasts and budgets; identify risks and opportunities
• Review general ledger and balance sheet
• Resolve accounting and reconciliation issues
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
• Maintain inventory and cost control procedures
• Review food service contracts for financial adherence
• Manage POS system and related duties
