Job summary

Surventis in Southfield, Michigan is seeking a Finance Business Partner to join our team in a hybrid role. You will bridge business units, external BPO partners, and Corporate Accounting, ensuring US GAAP, IFRS, and local tax compliance while owning local accounting and controlling processes.

The role requires 5+ years in Accounting/FP&A within a multinational, familiarity with SAP and BI tools, and strong analytical and communication skills. Fluency in English is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Controlling, Business Administration, Economics or related field.
• CMA or CPA certifications are a plus.
• 5+ years of experience combining Accounting and Controlling/FP&A in a multinational corporation.
• Experience in chemicals industry or related transitions/carve-outs is beneficial.
• Strong understanding of local GAAP, IFRS and process optimization.
• Proficiency in SAP R/3 and S/4, BI tools (Power BI, SAC) and MS Office.
• Fluency in English is required.

Responsibilities

• Act as the communication point between business units, the BPO and Corporate Accounting.
• Ensure local financial statements reflect US GAAP, IFRS and local tax laws.
• Own local accounting & controlling topics including balance sheet and P&L.
• Maintain high-quality standards across local E2E processes and ensure compliance.

As a Finance Business Partner, you will…

• In your new role, you are the communication point between the business units, the third-party business process provider (BPO) and Corporate Accounting
• You ensure that country-specifics such as local US GAAP, IFRS and local tax laws are correctly reflected in the local financial statements
• You act as the local caretaker for accounting & controlling topics, taking responsibility for local balance sheet & P&L
• We expect clear ownership of all local E2E processes, maintaining high-quality standards in the region and being the primary person for compliance-related topics

If you have…

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Controlling, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field; additional certifications such as CMA or CPA are an advantage
• 5+ years of work experience combining Accounting and Controlling/FP&A in a multinational corporation
• Experience in the chemicals industry or related industry, particularly during transitions or carve-outs, is highly beneficial
• Strong understanding of Accounting and Management Accounting processes, local GAAP, IFRS and process optimization methodologies
• Proficiency in SAP R/3 and S/4, BI tools (e.g. Power BI, SAC), process mapping tools, and advanced MS Office skills
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders in a multicultural environment
• Fluency in English is required
