Job summary

LUMA Energy is seeking a finance professional to support the Engineering and Capital Programs department with financial planning, analysis, and strategic decision making, ensuring transactions are well understood and reported accurately.

You will develop and maintain models, forecast results, prepare executive‑level reports, monitor KPIs, and help implement policies to strengthen internal controls and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 5 years' experience in FP&A or corporate finance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• Experience developing financial models, forecasts, and variance analysis.
• Experience in regulated industries (utilities or energy) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducts financial analysis to assess performance and support strategic initiatives.

Additional Job Description

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field from an accredited university.

Experience

• 5 years' experience with functional role responsibilities, working with financial planning and analysis or corporate finance.

• Additional experience may substitute for required education when it aligns with the competencies and knowledge necessary for the role: Associate’s degree in a relevant field may substitute when accompanied by a minimum of 8 years of experience performing similar functions and at least 5 years of experience performing a previous position in a Specialist role.

• Demonstrated experience developing financial models, forecasts, and variance analysis.

• Experience working within a regulated industry, such as utilities or energy, is strongly preferred.

Competencies (Skills)

• Proficiency with ERP systems (Oracle preferred) and advanced Excel‑based financial reporting tools.

• Proven track record collaborating with cross‑functional teams and influencing non‑financial stakeholders.

• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.

• Ability to explain complex financial concepts to non‑financial audiences.

• Critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities to evaluate data and provide actionable insights.

• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

• Prior experience with FEMA disaster recovery, grant compliance, or large‑scale project reimbursement is preferred.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, preferably in Spanish and English.

Licenses/Certifications

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or other designations would be considered a plus.
